The Back Country Land Trust (BCLT) is proud to launch a new environmental education program - guided Nature Walks at Wright's Field - in 2012!  Please join us for a docent-led "walk and talk" around Wright's Field the first Saturday of every month, beginning Saturday, April 7th - from 10am to 12noon.

Natural and cultural history topics will be explored each month by different guest speakers, and should reveal some interesting facts about San Diego and East County history through guided interpretive walks at our Wright's Field Preserve in Alpine.  Hiking will be easy to moderate.  Sturdy footwear is recommended.

Docent field guides will be discussing topics such as: History of Wright's Field and Alpine, CA - like the Wright family, the preserve's namesake - as well as the ancient geology of the Laguna Mountains, unique native plants and endangered species of Wright's Field, and more...!!!  See flyer below for details.

For more information - or to volunteer to lead a walk - contact BCLT at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 619.504.8181

Rain cancels event.

Save-the-Date!

"The Best Little Native Plant Sale in San Diego County!"

Join Alpine's native plant expert, Don Hohimer, for the Back Country Land Trust annual native plant sale.

Visit Alpine's Joan MacQueen Middle School on Saturday, October 29th on south Tavern Road.

Be there early at 8:00am for Don's "Plant Talk."  Plant sales start right after!

Native plants not only save on precious water, but provide diversity and habitat for hummingbirds, butterflies and beneficial insects. We look forward to seeing old friends and new ‘water wise’ converts at our annual Native Plant Sale and “Plant Talk”with Don Hohimer!
