Results are in from our 2015-2016 Watershed Stewardship Program for the San Diego River in Alpine.... Cumulative tally of our measurable progress to date: 40 properties cleared of invasive and highly flammable Arundo donax, totalling 4.5 acres of Arundo canopy cover, and 25,625 pounds of trash and hazardous waste and debris removed from Alpine's creeks and streams leading into the San Diego River and the El Capitan Reservoir (City of San Diego potable water supply).

Thanks to all of our agency partners, volunteers, and local non-profit groups for supporting this important program. Special thanks to our funding partners at the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project, California Coastal Commission, Earth Island Institute, and San Diego Gas & Electric, for making this season's work possible.
