It's that time of year again....

"The Best Little Native Plant Sale in San Diego County"
Saturday, November 3rd - 8:30am-11:30am
Joan MacQueen Middle School, 2001 Tavern Road in Alpine

Join Alpine's native plant expert, Don Hohimer, and the Back Country Land Trust, for our annual Native Plant sale!
Dozens of varieties of native plants will be available for purchase, and ALL proceeds go to support BCLT properties and programs.

Don's "Plant Talk" starts at 8:30am.  Plant sales start at 9am.

New this year....
BCLT "Firewood Fundraiser" - cut eucalyptus wood from Wright's Field will be available by the truckload and bundle!

Help us clear non-native trees and get a great deal on firewood for your home or camping trips...

Why plant native?  Native plants not only save on precious water, but provide diversity and habitat for hummingbirds, butterflies, and beneficial insects.
We look forward to seeing old friends and new 'water-wise' converts at our annual Native Plant Sale and "Plant Talk" with Don Hohimer!

The Back Country Land Trust (BCLT) is proud to launch a new environmental education program - guided Nature Walks at Wright's Field - in 2012!  Please join us for a docent-led "walk and talk" around Wright's Field the first Saturday of every month, beginning Saturday, April 7th - from 10am to 12noon.

Natural and cultural history topics will be explored each month by different guest speakers, and should reveal some interesting facts about San Diego and East County history through guided interpretive walks at our Wright's Field Preserve in Alpine.  Hiking will be easy to moderate.  Sturdy footwear is recommended.

Docent field guides will be discussing topics such as: History of Wright's Field and Alpine, CA - like the Wright family, the preserve's namesake - as well as the ancient geology of the Laguna Mountains, unique native plants and endangered species of Wright's Field, and more...!!!  See flyer below for details.
