Native Grassland Demonstration Area Becomes a Reality!
Helping our local Alpine girl scout troop to earn their Bronze Award this year, BCLT is proud to announce that we've officially begun restoration of a small section of our native California bunch grass habitat at Wright's Field MSCP Preserve in Alpine. This quarter-acre section of our beautiful grassland habitat will be restored to it's pre-historic ecosystem, with native bunch grasses and wild flowers predominating, and will serve as a visual demonstration of the grasslands that the Kumeyaay Indians saw when they arrived over 8,000 years ago at the place we now call Wright's Field.
