Trail Restoration Crew Volunteer
BCLT is seeking a team of volunteers to monitor trail conditions, assist in trail restoration, and potentially digitalize trail maps!
Wright’s Field Docent
Are you a people person who wants to share your love and enthusiasm for the outdoors with others? BCLT is looking for docents to lead occasional tours around Wright’s Field. We are looking for a variety of volunteers who may have knowledge in one or more of the following categories: the cultural and historical significance of Wright’s Field, ornithology and bird identification, botany and San Diego native plants, geology, and more. Tours will typically be given on weekends.
Wildlife Monitoring Volunteer
This volunteer opportunity can be as much commitment as you are interested in giving! Roles could vary from doing wildlife tracking, trail camera placement and upkeep, wildlife documentation, wildlife photography, and more! If you find yourself at Wright’s Field frequently, this role could be as easy as using iNaturalist to upload observations of species observed during your hike!
Social Media Volunteer
BCLT is looking for creative outdoor enthusiasts who are interested in working to create content for our Instagram, Facebook, and website. This would be a great low commitment opportunity for somebody interested in marketing, photography, creative writing, and more!
Water Quality Monitor
Back Country Land Trust is seeking a volunteer to conduct water quality monitoring at three locations in Alpine. Monitoring will take place once a month. Training can be provided if needed. This volunteer position would be responsible for taking and manually recording data then adding data to a digital record. This position requires a volunteer who is in good physical condition and able to safely maneuver steep and uneven terrain.
