Since 1990, Back Country Land Trust, our dedicated staff, volunteers and community have achieved protection of over 4,500 acres of land in San Diego’s East County. San Diego is one of the most biologically diverse regions in the United States. We actively manage multiple preserves and conservation properties, some home to endangered and threatened plant and animal species. We work continuously to ensure habitat for resident and migrating wildlife while maintaining outdoor recreational space for the betterment of the community.

It is our privilege and responsibility to care for these conserved lands.

BCLT’s conservation properties in the Greater Alpine area include our “signature” preserve, Wright’s Field MSCP Preserve, in the center of Alpine, as well as the adjoining Findel Ranch property, and three separate conservation properties in North Alpine, collectively known as our Mountain View properties. Altogether these preserved lands add up to 300+ acres of protected open space in Greater Alpine.
